Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick Review:

Typically when I'm looking at the Rimmel London rack, my eyes go straight to the Kate Moss line.  But a little while ago, (okay a long time ago, like birthday long time ago) I picked up this lipstick in shade Alarm.  This lipstick has a nice creamy feel to it with the tiniest bit of shine.  I would describe it as a creamy matte.

I had used it many times by this picture.
The red of this lipstick is very bright.  I guess that is why it's called Alarm.  It's gorgeous!  Wearing it for two hours with a little bit of drinking out of a water bottle and it stays just where I put it.  I then ate with this lipstick on.  The meal that I had was ribs, rice, and carrots.  I ate the ribs with a fork, but I still consider it to be a messy meal, and after dinner this lipstick was still on except for in the corners of my mouth.  Which is pretty typical when eating with good lipsticks.

So in my opinion, this lipstick has AMAZING staying power.

This lipstick didn't crease on me at all.  It didn't cling on to any dry bits on my lips.  It also wasn't drying at all.  Sometimes the Kate Moss line makes my lips feel dry, but this one didn't.  It also wasn't messy.  You know how some lipsticks (especially after eating) can end up all over your face?  This one was not like that at all!  I love it and I can't wait to add more to my collection!

The smell is interesting. Instead of having a fruit undertone like the Kate Moss (red) line, it kind of smells of fruity cinnamon. It's nice.

I think I paid around $4 to $5.

Pros: color, staying power, price
Cons: haven't found any.

Wet n' Wild Cherry Frost Lipstick Review:

When I first tried Wet n' Wild lipsticks, I didn't care for them.  I found them to be messy and easy to mess up, but now I really like them.  I have four from from the long lasting line, and I have two from this line (but I can't find its name anywhere...).  Cherry Frost was my first from this line. (What's up Doc? was my second!)

When I was looking at this lipstick in the store, all I saw was red, but it actually has little gold sparkles.  They're not big enough to see on the lip unless you're really, really, close to the lips. (And let's face it, no one should be that close to your face.)  I can't even get them to show up on camera.  But,  just know that they are there.  I also didn't know if this was going to be a matte lipstick, creamy lipstick, or high shine.  It's a creamy lipstick with shine to it.  Feels creamy, but has glitter in it to make it shimmery.  It's also long lasting.  I wouldn't eat with it, or else it will be all over your face.  (It's always all over mine.)  I can drink with it, but after sipping from a bottle for 2 and a half hours, I always need a top off.  But without eating and drinking it lasts on me for three hours before I feel as if it's too faded.   It doesn't stain at all and it's really, really, easy to remove.  This lipstick is also the first lipstick I have ever gotten on my teeth.

I've had this lipstick for a while now, and I've only used it a few times. It's not that it's bad, I just like others better. If I'm going towards a Wet n' Wild lipstick, I'll pick "What's up Doc?"  I really love that shade.  I'll probably start leaning towards it again when I have more clothing options to pair it with.

Pros: Price! 99 cents!!, staying power, feel
Cons: Gold glitter.

Have you tried any of these?  Let me know your favorite shade!

L'Oreal Infallible Lipstick in shade 421 Charismatic Coral:

This is my second lipstick from the L'Oreal Infallible Lipstick line. (Here is my first review!)

I absolutely love this lipstick.  I say this every time, but I really don't know why I don't have the full collection.  I think it's because when I go to the store the L'Oreal lipsticks are all the way at the bottom, and I just don't see them, and I'm one of those people where if the product is not in my face, I'm not going to remember that I love it.  But, I will absolutely get some more the next time I go on a lipstick spree.

This lipstick is so soft and smooth when it's put on.  Super creamy, and it has a matte finish, but it doesn't feel like a matte lipstick.  Most of my matte lipsticks make my lips feel dry, but these ones don't.  Now, when I was wearing this shade, I noticed that my lips felt a little sticky, and I didn't remember my other shade being as sticky, so the best thing to do was compare them, and I was right, my fuchsia shade isn't sticky at all, but this coral shade is.  The stickiness is only noticeable when you rub your lips together.  So, if you keep your lips resting it should be fine.  (Talking and other normal activities okay too!)

My favorite thing about this lipstick is the staying power!  Goodness do they stay.  I can eat a full dinner with these lipsticks on, and not necessarily need a touch up.  They fade, but they don't do what other lipsticks do, which is leave just a ring around my lips.  It's amazing!

Pros: STAYING POWER!, Super creamy, matte
Cons: A little sticky, a little pricey

Last time I gave this lipstick an 8 out of 10.  Now, I'm more of a 9 out of 10.  Love, love, love!

Have you tried theses?  Was this shade a little sticky to you too?  Let me know!

Wet n' Wild Lipstick:

For a really long time I avoided wearing this lipstick. I bought it on a whim, and when I got home, I felt that it was too bright and I didn't think I knew how to pair it with anything.  Turns out I was wrong.

This shade is called "What's up Doc?" it's a beautiful bright pink.

Lately my lips haven't been in the best conditions.  They have been a little bit dry and some lipsticks haven't been sitting on them nicely.  But with this one my lips looked fine.  It's staying power is really nice.  Few hours without needing a touch up, but with eating and drinking is not the best idea.  Drinking with a straw is fine, but anything else you'll need a touch up.

The lipstick itself is a very soft formula.  It goes on smoothly and very easily.  It's not drying at all, and as I said before, it doesn't cling to any imperfections.  When it fades, it fades to a soft pink.

I love Wet n' Wild lipsticks.  They're such great quality for their price!  This line in particular is .99 cents.  My other Wet n' Wild lipsticks are under $3. I haven't really tried anything else from Wet n' Wild, but I 100% recommend their lipsticks.

Pros: Price, quality, staying power, feel
Cons: I haven't really found any

What do you think about "What's up Doc?"  Let me know!

Maybelline Color Blur by Lipstudio:

When I saw this lipstick in the store I was really interested in it.  It wasn't in your typical lipstick tube and it also came with a little rubber end that I typically only see with eyeliner.  So, I picked up a stick in the shade 25 Cherry, Cherry, Bang, Bang.

On the end it shows you how to apply the lipstick, and I wasn't exactly sure if I was doing it right, and the first time I didn't, but the second time I think I did pretty well.  I thought it was a little spotty, but after looking up the proper way to use it, the rubber bit is supposed to help with ombre lips, and for full lip coverage, you just use it like any other lipstick.  (Made me feel silly for not knowing that!)

While applying this lipstick I thought to myself that it had a really smooth feel to it.  It was very, very, velvety.  For a matte lipstick, it was very creamy.  Now, matte lipsticks are a hit or miss with me.  They can either be perfect or they can dry my lips out and cling to every imperfection on my lip.  This lipstick was a little of both. It felt really nice until after about an hour.  Then it started to feel a little dry, and when that happens, I typically, subconsciously, start rubbing my lips together and  licking them. I tried to refrain as much as I could, but it still happened every so often. Even with that feeling, the lipstick still looked really great.  It wasn't creasy or anything like that.  After two hours the lipstick faded to a more pink tone, and it felt a little heavy on my lips. With just minimal lip use, this lipstick lasted around two and half to three hours. After eating, it was pretty much gone.

The lipstick doesn't have a smell or a taste to it, so that is pretty much a plus with me. This lipstick cost around $7.99, and I plan on going out and buying a few more, even if I don't use the rubber bit, the lipstick itself is still really nice.

Pros: nice feel, great colors, true matte finish
Cons: the rubber bit, price, feels a little heavy after a few hours

Have you tried the color blur lipsticks yet?

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick Review:

Shade: 875 Gladiolus

I'm not sure what to call this lipstick.  It's not matte, it's not high shine, it's in the middle.  Does that have a name I don't know about?  I'm sure it does and I'm just really clueless.   Well, whatever the name is, this lipstick is really nice.  There are small things that I would change, but we'll get to that.

The perks of this lipstick is that it's wax-free.  On the website it says that it goes on in one smooth swipe, and that's very true, it also says that it doesn't have a heavy feel, and that is very true also.  I can barely feel this lipstick when I'm wearing it.  It's perfect.  My biggest issue, is the size/shape of the lipstick.  It's very wide.  When applying it, I usually end up getting it on my face.

The next thing that I would change about it is the smell.  It's like a weird citrus smell.  It doesn't typically stay, but I can taste it when I lick my lips.  It's sweet tasting, with a after taste of something, maybe light peach...

Then the last thing I would change is the packaging.  Like I said the shape is odd, and every single time I put the lid back on I hit the lipstick on the side making a messy tube.

Other than those three things, I love this lipstick.  It light, smooth, goes on quickly. It's long lasting, without eating it lasts a good three hours.  It also has really nice colors. I plan on getting more in the future.

Pros: Light, smooth, long lasting, pretty, stays out of the little lip cracks
Cons: wide, smell

Do you have any of these lipsticks from Revlon?  Do you like them? Let me know!

MUA Review:

I recently discovered that CVS now sells MUA.  I don't know how they've been selling the line, so it's very new to me.  There isn't much of a selection.  They have a few different lipsticks, lip glosses, lip liners, lashes, and brushes.  I'm assuming the line has more, I mean it is called Make-up Academy...

I decided on three things; a anti-feathering lip liner, a lip scrub, and a lipstick.

Lip Scrub:
I've never made my own lip scrub, nor have I ever tried one.  I picked this one up for convenience.  There's not much to it really. It barely tastes like mint.  It's more petroleum jelly tasting than anything.  There's also not much sugar to it.  Sugar does come out, but I have to use more than I thought I would to make it feel like it's exfoliating anything.  I did read somewhere that it's not very moisturizing, but I think it's fine in that department.  I don't have to put on a Chapstick after I use it.  I probably won't buy another one. I've also discovered, after having it for a few months, that it separates.  I tried to use it the other day, and only oil came out.  I had to shake it to mix it up again.
  It cost around $5.

Pros: convenient, exfoliates, moisturizes
Cons: not much sugar, tastes a little odd

Lipstick:
#230 Coral

When I first tried this lipstick, I didn't like it.  I wasn't sure what I was going for when I picked it up.  It didn't specifically say that it was a high shine lipstick, but it's pretty shiny.  The reasoning behind me not liking it at first is the staying power...It barely has any.  Because of this,  I have rarely worn it.  It's a really pretty color though!
It also smells like candy.  The smell is just while it's in the tube, and I don't notice it the second it goes onto my lips, but while it's in the tube, it's a pretty strong sweet smell, and I'm not sure if I like it.

Pros: pretty color, different to my other lipsticks
Cons: smell, staying power

Lip Liner:
Clear

I tried this lip liner under a lipstick that I absolutely hate.  It's called anti-feathering, so I thought that it would help it out, I was so wrong.  The lipstick still dried out my lips.  It still pills on my lips, and it still settled into the cracks.
When I used it under a better lipstick it didn't do much.  Like any other time I have used a lip liner, I felt like my lipstick faded faster than if I use it alone.

Pros: I don't really see any
Cons: Didn't work for me.

In the end, I don't know if I'll buy more.  I do have one other lipstick that I have yet to try, and I'm pretty sure that one is a matte and maybe I'll like it better.  Who knows...That review will be coming eventually.   I also think that I paid way too much for these three products.  When I looked online to see if I had bought a high shine lipstick, it said that the lipstick was only 1 euro, which roughly translates to two dollars...I think I paid around 4 to 5 dollars.

Do you like MUA? Let me know!

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick #104:

I'm just going to start this post off by saying I love Rimmel London.  I have so many lip products from them, including two from the Kate Moss line.  Now I have a third, color 104.

I wasn't 100% on this color.  I picked it up because it looked nice and I didn't have a color like it yet. But when I put it on I noticed that it's really close to my natural lip color, so of course I love it on me.  I call it a dusty rose, my mom calls it a pink berry.  Both are very accurate.

I'm assuming that it's matte.  My other two Kate Moss lipsticks are, but this one doesn't feel like a matte lipstick until I've had it on for an hour or so.  Without eating or drinking 104 lasts about four hours.  I'm sure it would last all day, but I've got a bad habit of rubbing my lips together.

I think one of my favorite things about the Kate Moss lipsticks is the smell.  They're fruity instead of sweet.   They're also highly pigmented and last for hours.

What is you favorite Kate Moss lipstick?  Let me know!

Covergirl Lipstick Review:

I saw this lipstick in a magazine ad and I just had to get it!  #295 Succulent Cherry by Covergirl.  I think the shade is perfect for spring and I have a few covergirl lipsticks so I know that they staying power is pretty good, as long as you’re not going to eat or drink a lot.  I think using a straw is okay, but eating is horrible.  Even with odd mouth movements.

I like to describe the color as a tomato red, and you can build it up a little bit with layers.   Covergirl’s lipsticks go on like a lip butter, very smooth and extremely soft, but they have the cover of a lipstick.  I love it.

The smell of this lipstick, is like all of my other covergirl lipsticks.  Play Dough.  But the smell doesn’t stick, unless you put a few layers of the color on.  When I wore #335, I had a few layers on, and I could taste it in the back of my throat all night.  Also, this time the tube itself is red instead of a shinny purplish gray.   It makes it stand out, which I really like.  I haven’t really looked at any of the other colors in the collection, but I will soon and most likely purchase more.

This lipstick gets me excited for spring.  It will most likely be my go to color.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipsticks:

I was watching a few youtube videos the other day and in one of them, a girl was wearing Rimmel London Kate Moss lipstick, and I really liked the color, so I decided to go out and get my very own.  That color was #30, and while I was there I decided to pick up #107.   I expected different things from each of the colors.  I expected #107 to be more red than berry, and I expected #30 to be less berry.   When I swatched  #30 it reminded me of “Sugar Plum Fairy” from Wet n’ Wild, but when I swatch them next to each other, “Sugar Plum Fairy” has more purple in it.   With #107, I expected a dark deep red, but I think I got it confused with another color all together. This one is really close to #30, as you can see in the swatches, but #107 leans toward red whereas #30 leans towards purple.

I wore #107 when I went shopping last week, and I wore it out to dinner a few nights ago.  Both days it stayed perfectly.  It stayed on even with eating chips & dip and a turkey burger.  I was really surprised, and it’s staying power made me want to run out to the store and buy more.  I haven’t obviously, or else they’d be in this post, but soon, I’ll pick up more spring colors.
I haven’t gotten the chance to wear #30 out, and I don’t know if it’s the same formula as #107.  As you can see their tubes are different colors and they have different smells.  #107 has a fruity smell to it, and #30 still has a fruity smell but it’s more of a standard cosmetic smell.  It’s hard to describe.  But neither smells stick around.

#107 on the left, #30 on the right
I don’t know how much longer I’ll be wearing the darker lipsticks, seeing how spring is coming around, but I can see myself wearing #107 throughout the year, whereas I’ll reserve #30 for the Fall time.

Which is your favorite?  Let me know!

Wet n' Wild Lipstick Review:

Today I have two new Wet n' Wild lipsticks, that I am totally in love with!  I think about a year ago I reviewed two other Wet n' Wild lipsticks, and I said I didn't like them.  But since then I've really gotten into wearing lipstick regularly, and I've just adapted to their "difficulties."  I was really harsh to them, saying that I was worried that they weren't staying on and that the darker one stained the area around my lips.  I'm MUCH better with lipstick now, and I think the reason why I was so worried about it being down my face was because I wasn't careful with my mouth.  Plus I have this habit of rubbing my lips together.

Now, I'm not going to lie, it was advertised in the store that they lasted four hours, they don't.  I've gone out and had a few drinks and had to re-apply to where the straw had been on my lips, but other than that I really like these lipsticks.  I wear "Wine Room" all of the time, and ever since I bought it, I've been leaning towards "Stoplight Red" a lot.

Now, on to the actual colors in these pictures...The first is a lovely purple color called "Sugar Plum Fairy."  I really like the dark purple/ dark red lip look, but I'm still a litte shy.  They're not as true on my hand as they are on my lips so I'll post two pictures to my Instagram of me wearing them. (It's dark out, I can't snap pics yet.)  It's my second purple lipstick, and I love it!

The next color is called "Stoplight Red."  And as I said above, I've been reaching for it when ever I go out.  It's a very  bright red.  I'd call it a pure red, but my sister wouldn't.  I haven't noticed if it goes pink or not.  Some of my other lipsticks will turn more pink, but I think this red stays red.  Funny story (to me), I went out to dinner and wore this lipstick, and I usually, to be cautious, take my lipstick off with the napkin, but this place has cloth napkins, and I wasn't about to rub lipstick all over it.  So, I ate very cautiously, and it stuck pretty well.  But there was this older man staring at me the whole time.  I guess he thought I was eating funny, I don't really know.  But I can at least tell you, that if you're careful, this lipstick will stay on through dinner.  Haha.

Anyways, I'm sad that I gave such a bad review at first, Wet n' Wild lipsticks are amazing.  I love, love, love, them!

Covergirl & Revlon Lipsticks:

To be completely honest, I'm not 100% sure why I bought these two lipsticks.   I would have never picked up the one from covergirl if it wasn't for one of those try out different hair and make up simulators.  On the outside it's purple.  On the inside it's purple with blue sparkles, applied it's purple, but after a bit it's more pink.  Which is totally confusing.  I love this lipstick.  I don't know how often I am going to wearing, but I love it.  I chose the Rimmel London lipstick because I've fallen in love with their lip butters and I think I'm slowly, subconsciously, trying to collect them all.

The blue glitter doesn't show while it's on, and it's more pink after it settles in to your lips.  It will be in a FOTD in a few weeks.

Covergirl 335 Embrace:
Like I said above, it looks a lot different on the lips.  I wasn't so sure about the purpleness.  It scares me.  But also now that it's fall I've been looking for the perfect dark lipstick.  Something less spring/summer.  And if you've been here long you know that is a struggle for me.  I feel like I don't have the right skin tone for lipstick so dark, but the I see all of these amazing people who pretty much have the same skin tone as me wearing deep reds and burgundy and all of that.  So, I figure why not.  It a comfort thing that I have to get over, because I like the dark lip look, who cares that it's not exactly fashionable for me.  (that's not the right word, but it's the one that came to my head.)
This lipstick has amazing staying power.  I have a lighter colored tube and I was wearing it the other day, forgot, took a shower, and when I got out of the shower it was still on.   It does not budge with light drinking out of a bottle, and it does not budge with my nervous lip biting/rubbing together habbit that I have somehow gotten myself stuck on.  I haven't tried it against eating a sandwich or anything like that, but I think it will be fine.   It's hard to remove.  I used a makeup wipe against it the other day, and I couldn't get all of it off.   I've used garnier fructis oil, and it was still difficult to remove.

My only negative notes about this lipstick is the smell and after a bit it feels a little drying.  There is just something about Covergirls formula, that I don't like.  It's like old fashioned lipstick paired with perfume.  Not the best, but for how long it lasts, I can power through it.

Revlon  050 Berry Smoothie:
I expected this butter to be a little bit darker and more berry than it is.  It's more pink but it's still a very nice color.  Again, like I said above, I think I'm subconsciously collecting all of the Revlon Lip Butters.  This is my 3rd and that doesn't seem like much, but I'm not really one to have a lot of color options (yet).
I haven't played with this one as much as I have with the Covergirl lipstick because I kind of feel like I already know how well it works.  You'll need to check it every little while, but other than that, it's really nice.  It doesn't dry your lips out and they're not as committed as a regular lipstick, meaning that they can be light or you can build them up.
I do really love Revlon lipsticks.  I want to say their currently my favorite brand.  (Just be sure to stay away from the suede line.  Ick.)

I highly suggest covergirl and revlon.  Love, love, love!

Revlon Lipstick Review:

So I don’t know if you know this about me, but I am really safe with lipstick.  I don’t venture out from what I know and love.  I didn’t notice how safe I was about the colors that I pick until I tried to do a “my favorite lip colors” post.  I found out that they’re pretty much all the same color, just by a different brand.  Well not anymore.  I picked up two lipstick colors that I don’t own, a very light pink color and a deep pink color.  Both by Revlon, both from lines that I already know I love.

Up first is the lip butter.  I have one other lip butter in a nice red shade called 063 Wild Watermelon.  I like to wear this one more in the fall and spring than in the summer or winter.  Now I have a light pink called 080 Strawberry Shortcake.  The reason why I never bought this one is because it’s a light pink.  Looking at the sticker on the bottom, it’s a pale Barbie pink, and looking at the tube it’s a candy pink.  But I decided to try it out, and I am SO GLAD I did.  I love the color.  It’s not too pink and sugary.  It’s perfect for the days where I want some pink without some orange.  I am very happy with my pick, and I will be wearing this a lot.

The next one is a little bit different.  I have another one from the Super Lustrous line and it’s a pink color.  It was my first lipstick, and for a while I didn’t like it and I ignored it, but I picked it up a little while ago, and I loved it. It’s called 423 Pink Velvet.  The one I’m showing you today called 657 Fuchsia Fusion. What I didn’t know when I bought it was that it has blue undertones in it.  I was tickled because I had wanted to try a blue undertone lipstick.   I really like this one, but I’m still a little weary about wearing it at this point in time.

If you’re looking for new lipsticks to try then I suggest trying Revlon’s Lip Butter line or the Super Lustrous line.  I would stay away from the Suede line though.  It’s not a very nice line.

7 Things: Favorite Lip Products:

I was going to limit this post to favorite lip colors, but really I’m not very different when it comes to my lip color.  I was looking through my lipsticks, and I noticed that I have pretty much all of the same color.  So, I picked the items that I use the most.

1.       Covergirl #280 Rapture
It has more shimmer than what’s showing up. I usually throw this one on if I’m not really sure what I’ll be doing.
2.       Flower LS7 So Gladiola
I noticed that this one is really just the matte version of the one above.  So if I want less shimmer, I go to this one.
3.       Revlon #063 Wild Watermelon
This one is a lip butter, and it was my first red color.  I like to wear this one more in the fall or spring.  I like paring it with my mint sweater.
4.       Rimmel London Showoff #300 Out of this World
When I want to go pink this is my go to.  I’m not a big fan of lip gloss but this one, and the one below, are my favorites ever.
5.       Rimmel London Showoff #500 Luna
This is another one that I noticed is just like 1 and 2 but in lipgloss form.  It’s a solid color meaning that is has no shimmer but it is shinny like a lip gloss.
6.       Maybelline Lip Liner Clear
I’ve talked about this one before, and I still love it.
7.       Burt’s Bees Revitalizing Blueberry & Dark Chocolate
Everyone need a chapstick, and this one smells amazing.  I didn’t know that it had dark chocolate in though, so if you’d rather it be chocolate, you’re out of luck.

Flower by Drew Barrymore:

The powdered foundation is PPL
A little while ago, while on my normal run to wal*mart, I walked pass a display in the make-up section called Flower.  I decided to take a look, and I was drawn to this little rectangle, and found out that it was powder foundation.  I have never used powder foundation.  I have used powder, but it has never been full coverage.  I decided to buy.  The first time I used it, I didn’t really care for it.  I felt like it didn’t cover enough, and I felt like it was too powdery.  A little while later, I tried it again, and I fell in love with it.  (Obviously that can be seen in the picture.)  The packaging is very lovely.  It's a magnet closing instead of a snap, and I was a little weary about that, thinking that it would open in my make-up bag, but it hasn't.  It also likes to pick up my bobby pins, which I don't mind.

Fast forward a few months, and I went back and bought two new items, a lipstick and an eyeliner marker/ mascara combo.  I love the lipstick, but the combo pack, not so much.  I don’t know if I just got a dud or what, but the mascara is dry and barely comes off of the brush. That's a little disappointing because it costs nearly $10.  The mascara also says that its volumizing, but I haven’t noticed a difference (maybe because it’s so dry?)   I don’t know.

The marker, is great.  I'm not the best at cat eye like eyeliner but I think using this marker makes it a little bit easier.

LS7 So Gladiola

The only complaints that I have about the lipstick is that it’s a little drying, but that’s so easily fixed, that it’s not worth complaining about, and that it is a smidgebit hard to open, but the more use, the easier it's getting.  It lasts for a really long time.  Even through all of my nervous lip rubbing and biting it has stayed strong.  I love it.
The brand itself is very pleasing.  They don’t test on animals, and they try to keep the prices as low as the can.  The website itself (flowerbeauty.com) is very aesthetically pleasing.  It flows perfectly and Drew even has a videos showing what she loves, and tips on how to fully expand her line.  I don’t see that from other brands, and in my opinion it shows that she really cares about her line.

I hope to own more from her line, and when I do, I’ll update.
