Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick Review:

Shade: 875 Gladiolus

I'm not sure what to call this lipstick.  It's not matte, it's not high shine, it's in the middle.  Does that have a name I don't know about?  I'm sure it does and I'm just really clueless.   Well, whatever the name is, this lipstick is really nice.  There are small things that I would change, but we'll get to that.

The perks of this lipstick is that it's wax-free.  On the website it says that it goes on in one smooth swipe, and that's very true, it also says that it doesn't have a heavy feel, and that is very true also.  I can barely feel this lipstick when I'm wearing it.  It's perfect.  My biggest issue, is the size/shape of the lipstick.  It's very wide.  When applying it, I usually end up getting it on my face.

The next thing that I would change about it is the smell.  It's like a weird citrus smell.  It doesn't typically stay, but I can taste it when I lick my lips.  It's sweet tasting, with a after taste of something, maybe light peach...

Then the last thing I would change is the packaging.  Like I said the shape is odd, and every single time I put the lid back on I hit the lipstick on the side making a messy tube.

Other than those three things, I love this lipstick.  It light, smooth, goes on quickly. It's long lasting, without eating it lasts a good three hours.  It also has really nice colors. I plan on getting more in the future.

Pros: Light, smooth, long lasting, pretty, stays out of the little lip cracks
Cons: wide, smell

Do you have any of these lipsticks from Revlon?  Do you like them? Let me know!

Covergirl & Revlon Lipsticks:

To be completely honest, I'm not 100% sure why I bought these two lipsticks.   I would have never picked up the one from covergirl if it wasn't for one of those try out different hair and make up simulators.  On the outside it's purple.  On the inside it's purple with blue sparkles, applied it's purple, but after a bit it's more pink.  Which is totally confusing.  I love this lipstick.  I don't know how often I am going to wearing, but I love it.  I chose the Rimmel London lipstick because I've fallen in love with their lip butters and I think I'm slowly, subconsciously, trying to collect them all.

The blue glitter doesn't show while it's on, and it's more pink after it settles in to your lips.  It will be in a FOTD in a few weeks.

Covergirl 335 Embrace:
Like I said above, it looks a lot different on the lips.  I wasn't so sure about the purpleness.  It scares me.  But also now that it's fall I've been looking for the perfect dark lipstick.  Something less spring/summer.  And if you've been here long you know that is a struggle for me.  I feel like I don't have the right skin tone for lipstick so dark, but the I see all of these amazing people who pretty much have the same skin tone as me wearing deep reds and burgundy and all of that.  So, I figure why not.  It a comfort thing that I have to get over, because I like the dark lip look, who cares that it's not exactly fashionable for me.  (that's not the right word, but it's the one that came to my head.)
This lipstick has amazing staying power.  I have a lighter colored tube and I was wearing it the other day, forgot, took a shower, and when I got out of the shower it was still on.   It does not budge with light drinking out of a bottle, and it does not budge with my nervous lip biting/rubbing together habbit that I have somehow gotten myself stuck on.  I haven't tried it against eating a sandwich or anything like that, but I think it will be fine.   It's hard to remove.  I used a makeup wipe against it the other day, and I couldn't get all of it off.   I've used garnier fructis oil, and it was still difficult to remove.

My only negative notes about this lipstick is the smell and after a bit it feels a little drying.  There is just something about Covergirls formula, that I don't like.  It's like old fashioned lipstick paired with perfume.  Not the best, but for how long it lasts, I can power through it.

Revlon  050 Berry Smoothie:
I expected this butter to be a little bit darker and more berry than it is.  It's more pink but it's still a very nice color.  Again, like I said above, I think I'm subconsciously collecting all of the Revlon Lip Butters.  This is my 3rd and that doesn't seem like much, but I'm not really one to have a lot of color options (yet).
I haven't played with this one as much as I have with the Covergirl lipstick because I kind of feel like I already know how well it works.  You'll need to check it every little while, but other than that, it's really nice.  It doesn't dry your lips out and they're not as committed as a regular lipstick, meaning that they can be light or you can build them up.
I do really love Revlon lipsticks.  I want to say their currently my favorite brand.  (Just be sure to stay away from the suede line.  Ick.)

I highly suggest covergirl and revlon.  Love, love, love!

Revlon Lipstick Review:

So I don’t know if you know this about me, but I am really safe with lipstick.  I don’t venture out from what I know and love.  I didn’t notice how safe I was about the colors that I pick until I tried to do a “my favorite lip colors” post.  I found out that they’re pretty much all the same color, just by a different brand.  Well not anymore.  I picked up two lipstick colors that I don’t own, a very light pink color and a deep pink color.  Both by Revlon, both from lines that I already know I love.

Up first is the lip butter.  I have one other lip butter in a nice red shade called 063 Wild Watermelon.  I like to wear this one more in the fall and spring than in the summer or winter.  Now I have a light pink called 080 Strawberry Shortcake.  The reason why I never bought this one is because it’s a light pink.  Looking at the sticker on the bottom, it’s a pale Barbie pink, and looking at the tube it’s a candy pink.  But I decided to try it out, and I am SO GLAD I did.  I love the color.  It’s not too pink and sugary.  It’s perfect for the days where I want some pink without some orange.  I am very happy with my pick, and I will be wearing this a lot.

The next one is a little bit different.  I have another one from the Super Lustrous line and it’s a pink color.  It was my first lipstick, and for a while I didn’t like it and I ignored it, but I picked it up a little while ago, and I loved it. It’s called 423 Pink Velvet.  The one I’m showing you today called 657 Fuchsia Fusion. What I didn’t know when I bought it was that it has blue undertones in it.  I was tickled because I had wanted to try a blue undertone lipstick.   I really like this one, but I’m still a little weary about wearing it at this point in time.

If you’re looking for new lipsticks to try then I suggest trying Revlon’s Lip Butter line or the Super Lustrous line.  I would stay away from the Suede line though.  It’s not a very nice line.

My Nail Polish Collection:

I don’t have that big of a collection, nor do I have that many different shades, but here is my nail polish collection.  Some of them I have even had since I was 13 or 14.  That’s a really long time, but they haven’t gotten sticky or dry so I keep them.

From Left to right their names are: Top Coat.  370 Uptempo Plum.  460 Cherry Nice.  Purple Potion.  Hot Magenta.  650 Navy Baby. 908 Graphite Gravity.  902 Purple Passion.
Most of my nail polish is by Sally Hanson.   The two extreme wears are the oldest in my collection.  I haven’t worn them in a while, but they’re still pretty nice.  The one that I wear most out of this collection is the Dark blue complete salon manicure.  It’s a little thick because it’s a base coat, top coat, and something else all combined into one.  It’s called Navy Baby. My other favorite is the purple magnetic polish. It’s called polar purple.  If you don’t know what the magnetics are then what happens is the top is a magnet and while the color is still wet you put it over and a pattern comes out.  These are waves.  Essie has one that does a sort of checked one.  It’s really cool.

From Left to Right their names are: Limelight.  Power Play.  Screamin’ Fuchsia.
The next ones might be hard to find.  I got these at a store called 5 and below.  If you can’t guess, everything in the store is $5 dollars or less.  My favorite is the hot pink, but I do tend to wear the purple more often.  These are another one you have to build up but they’re nice once you get there.

Their names are 146A Love Letters and 133A Purple Pizzazz Frost.
The next ones are also really old.  I love them both.  I don’t think you can tell from the picture, but the purple has blue shimmer in it and it looks perfect.

Their names are Cheatin’ and Strapless.
I'm not sure if they have any other brand name other than Pure Ice.  The purple one has a clear base with bigger glitter and the blue is clear based with small glitter.  Cheatin’ is more of a put over another color whereas Strapless you could wear on its own.  I love them both for many different reasons.

Their names are 660 Grape and Moon Candy.
To me Moon Candy is a little cheat and it chips easily.  The glitter is really big and flakey so you have to be really careful when pulling away the brush or else you’ll have lumpy nails.  It’s not very practical, and I rarely use it.   Grape on the other hand is amazing.  You only need one layer and it dry quickly.  I love it.

This one’s name is 85 Bolting Blue.
I got this nail polish when I was up north for my cousins wedding.  It is the only Milani product I own. It was my favorite when I was a senior in high school.  I haven’t used it much sense, but it’s still such a nice blue.

This one’s name is Russian Navy.
My one and only OPI.  I got this one when I was 15 and I had just gotten a special little card that allowed me to shop at a store where only professional cosmetologist could shop.  I took one class, and I was going to continue, but other things got in the way.  I thought it was so cool and special.  I haven’t gotten any more OPI because I feel like they're too expensive.  I kind of just noticed that Nicole is by OPI.  So, I guess I have more OPI than I thought.  Woops.  I haven’t used this one in a long time, I should throw it out, but it has a little memory to it, so I think I’ll keep it for a while.

From Left to Right their names are: Blue Lace.  Virtuous Violet.  Top Coat Plus.
The next ones are by OPI, but it’s their Nicole line.  My favorite is the purple one.  I’m not a big fan of the top coat, but to be honest, I’m not fan of any top coats really.  They’re a little thin, but they don’t get gross and stick with buildup.

This one is called 678 Bahamian Escape.
For a long time, I couldn’t find the Essie color that I wanted, so I tried my hardest to find a dupe.  If you but this one next to the Essie you would think I were blind.  It’s a beautiful sky blue and I use it often.

This one is called 107 Robin’s Egg.
Keeping up with trying to find an Essie dupe, I picked up this one.  Still nowhere near close, but a pretty color nonetheless.  It’s very close to a robin’s egg.

This one is called Pumpkin.  (Really not shocking.)
I got this one from a friend.  It was brighter originally, and it’s a Halloween special.  I never use it because of how cheap it is.  It’s very thin and gross.  I have no idea why I kept it.

This one is called 270 Shocker.
This one is by Rimmel London, and I use it often.  When I’m craving pink this is my go to.  You only need one coat and it dries very fast.  I don’t think it’s exactly 60 seconds, but it’s quicker than some.

This one has no name.
I got this from Hot Topic when I thought it was cool to get things from Hot Topic.  I never use it, because its thick and I don’t like the small handle.

This one is called Mint Apple Candy.
As I said earlier, I looked for this one ever where, no luck.  I looked for dupes, no luck.  Then finally I found it.  I was so excited for it because many love Essie.  Me not so much.  I found it to be thin.  It’s hard for me to get it even and after it dries, I feel like it chipping an hour later.  I love the colors Essie offers, but I don’t think I’ll be buying another.

Wow that’s long!  If you stuck in this long, tell me which was your favorite?  Let me know!

7 Things: Favorite Lip Products:

I was going to limit this post to favorite lip colors, but really I’m not very different when it comes to my lip color.  I was looking through my lipsticks, and I noticed that I have pretty much all of the same color.  So, I picked the items that I use the most.

1.       Covergirl #280 Rapture
It has more shimmer than what’s showing up. I usually throw this one on if I’m not really sure what I’ll be doing.
2.       Flower LS7 So Gladiola
I noticed that this one is really just the matte version of the one above.  So if I want less shimmer, I go to this one.
3.       Revlon #063 Wild Watermelon
This one is a lip butter, and it was my first red color.  I like to wear this one more in the fall or spring.  I like paring it with my mint sweater.
4.       Rimmel London Showoff #300 Out of this World
When I want to go pink this is my go to.  I’m not a big fan of lip gloss but this one, and the one below, are my favorites ever.
5.       Rimmel London Showoff #500 Luna
This is another one that I noticed is just like 1 and 2 but in lipgloss form.  It’s a solid color meaning that is has no shimmer but it is shinny like a lip gloss.
6.       Maybelline Lip Liner Clear
I’ve talked about this one before, and I still love it.
7.       Burt’s Bees Revitalizing Blueberry & Dark Chocolate
Everyone need a chapstick, and this one smells amazing.  I didn’t know that it had dark chocolate in though, so if you’d rather it be chocolate, you’re out of luck.

Revlon Blush: Melon Drama

With it being spring, I wanted a peachy colored blush just to change things up a bit.   So I wandered around the make-up aisle.

I noticed the Revlon blush and I thought it was the perfect shade.  (Unfortunately, the camera makes it look pink.)

It’s not very noticeable with the finger swatch I did, but the amount that comes off and on to the cheeks is very pleasing.  Sometimes, with other brands, there’s no pay off, but with this on there is.  It was just what I was looking for.
The only down side that I have about this blush is that it has gold sparkles in it.  Not so much while you’re inside and hanging out, but in the sun I definitely saw the gold sparkle.  So if you spend a lot of time in the sun, and you don’t like sparkles, then this really isn’t the blush for you.
I think I paid around $5 for it, maybe $6.  So it’s definitely in budget.   I just know that it will  be my spring and summer blush.  I love it.

Do you like peachy blush?  Let me know!

Favorite Lip Products!

Over the years, I have never worn color on my lips unless it was from lip gloss and that really had to be minimum.  I never wanted to attract attention to myself, but recently I've branched out.  I don't know if it is because I'm getting older, or if it is because the people around me.  So, after convincing myself that I should get some lipstick, I bought Revlon Pink Velvet.  But,  I couldn't convince myself to wear it.  I've worn it twice, maybe three times, out and I've rubbed it off each time.
A few weeks later, I was watching one of my favorite YouTubers and she  mentioned in a  video of hers: Rimmel London Apocolips.  I quickly googled them to find the closest store in my area that had them, to find out that they were not available.  Slightly bummed, I moved on.  Maybe about a week or so later, I was looking through the make-up aisle at a local drugstore and I saw a section of lip gloss that looked exactly like the ones in the video.  Looking closer, I found out that they were the same product, just with a different name. Here in the US they're called Showoff.

  • Color 1: Solstice
  • Color 2: Out of This World
  • Color 3: Luna
  • Color 4: Aurora
My favorite is Luna, and a close second is Out of This World.

They didn't have "Luna" the first time around, so I bought "Solstice" and "Out of This World."  Then the second time around I got "Luna" and "Aurora."

Slowly getting out of my shell with all of the colors above, I decided it was time to get another lipstick.  I went with a lighter color than the first time, and to be honest I wear it all of the time.  It's called "Rapture" by Covergirl.

Feeling a little more confident, and reading a review on a different site, I decided to buy a red lipstick, well lip butter.  The reason why I bought it was because the review said that it was an easy color, and it felt amazing on her lips.  It's "Wild Watermelon" by Revlon, and it's exactly like that.  It's very smooth and hydrating, and stays on for a while. ( Even with my bad habit of blowing bubbles with my gum, and rubbing my lips together.)
Sorry it's not the best, all of the other ones were blurry, also, I don't know why it has lines on it other than I might have hit my teeth...Idk.
I would have swatched it, but it's a lip butter, and it didn't work out too well. But it's a gorgeous color.

I have other lip colors and products but they are not my very favorite, so that is why they are not in this specific post.   I will later on take a picture of all my lip products even the ones that I am sure are not around anymore.

Thanks for reading! Byeee!

Make-up Collection & Storage!

I'm a drugstore baby, and I'm not complaining.  My very favorites are Maybelline, Rimmel London, Revlon, and NYC.  They're in my price range and you can actually see them on your skin, unlike others where they don't show up at all, or they'll rub off/crease within five minutes.

Make-up collection

My make-up collection is small.  I typically used the same exact make-up each day.  When I run out mascara I go out and buy the same exact one.  I used to be different, but recently, I just got into a mode and that is what I do.

Storage
Drawer 1: Brushes
Drawer 2: Mascara, Concealer, and Eyeliner.
Drawer 3: Hair bobbies, ties, etc.
Drawer 4: Most used Eyeshadow
Drawer 5: All other eyeshadow
Drawer 6: Make-up and things I don’t use.

As much as I love my drugstore brands I would love to be able to try higher brands, but unfortunately they're out of my price range at the moment.  I sit here watching make-up gurus, and I can't wait until I can finally afford what they're reviewing and what they love.
