Mixed Drink: Irish Trash Can

I've known about recipe for a really long time, and I’ve just gotten around to trying it.  The drink tasted just like Red Bull, and seeing that that is the main ingredient, that makes sense.  I could taste the alcohol,  but not as much as I thought I was going to because I used pretty cheap alcohol.  The most expensive alcohol in this picture was the Bols, and that only cost around $10.  If you’re looking for a good cheap, aristocrat isn’t it, I’m telling you that now, but in a mixed drink it’s fine.  I, personally, wouldn't drink Aristocrat straight.  Also, it’s not the best idea to mix caffeine with alcohol, but as long as you’re careful it should be alright.

Ingredients:
1/2 oz Gin
1/2 oz Light Rum
1/2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
1/2 oz Blue Curacao
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1 can of Red Bull

Directions:

Fill a glass with ice, add in the alcohol and stir.

Then put the whole can of Red Bull in, so that while you drink, the red bull is always being poured in.

Enjoy!

Mixed Drink:Peppermint White Russian

If you know anything about me, it's that I love everything mint flavored.  You'll also know that I love Bailey's Irish Cream.  So, this drink is perfection.

2 oz Peppermint Schnapps
2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
1 oz Half and Half

Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice and then strain into a glass.
You can garnish with peppermint candies, but I had a hard time getting them to stick.  So really I just wasted a few candies.
I put the drink into a small 2 oz glass because I think the glass is super cute, but the recipe makes about a 5 oz drink.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you have any tips about getting the candy to stick let me know!

Mixed Drink: Hammer Horror

When it’s really hot outside, my favorite thing to do is sit down with a bowl of really good vanilla ice-cream.  I’m pretty boring when it comes to ice cream, so I’m vanilla all the way.   Recently  I decided  why not find a drink that involves vanilla ice-cream?  I looked through a cocktail book that we own and when I saw this recipe, I instantly wanted to make it.

Ingredients:
1 ½ Tbsp Vodka
1 ½ Tbsp Kahlua
4 Tbsp Vanilla Ice Cream
Cracked Ice
Chocolate Powder

Directions:
Crush up some ice, so that it's not completely solid, but not into a fine powder.
Add in the Vodka, Kahlua, and ice cream.
Blend it all together to a milkshake consistency.
Strain into a martini glass and serve instantly.

This drink is the perfect amount of cold from the ice cream and the ice and it tastes just like a chocolate milkshake.  It was so good!   I couldn't taste the alcohol at all.  I'll definitely be making this one again.

Mixed Drink: Pink Raspberry Margarita

I’ve had a bottle of Tequila Rose in my fridge for as long as I can remember, so I went out onto the internet in search of a drink with Tequila Rose in it.  What makes this drink a margarita is the tequila and the rimming with sugar.  I’ve always had margaritas with salt and typically frozen.  I’ve never had a creamy one.  Now I have.
This drink is delicious!  It’s sweet but has a small tequila taste.  I’m so glad that I found it!

Ingredients:
1 oz Tequila
1 oz Tequila Rose
½ oz Chambord
2 ½ oz Cream
Dash of Grenadine
Sugar

Directions:
Pour all of the liquid ingredients into a shaker with ice and mix.
Wet the rim of the glass with water and roll it in the sugar.
Pour the mix into the glass and serve.

Options: Garnish with Raspberries.

Enjoy!

Mixed Drink: Peanut Butter and Jelly Shot

Hey there!  Today I have a very simple alcoholic shot for you today!  I always love experimenting with different types of alcohol, and while looking for more drinks to try I stumbled upon this one.

Ingredients:
1 oz Hazelnut Liqueur
1 oz Raspberry Liqueur
½ oz Butterscotch Schnapps

Directions:
Add all of the ingredients to a shaker and shake for a few seconds.  Pour into a shot glass and enjoy!

If you get past the slight alcohol taste this shot actually does taste just like a PB&J.  It's really good.

Mixed Drink: Nuts and Berries:

This cocktail is so yummy!  I found it to be a little bit strong, but you can leave out the vodka if you want a sweeter taste.   It’s also a very simple drink.  All you need to do is add it to a shaker.  Also, if you have them, you can garnish the drink with raspberries to make it look more presentable.
To make two, double the ingredients below!

Ingredients:
1 oz Hazelnut Liqueur
1 oz Raspberry Liqueur
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Half and Half

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake.  Pour into a martini glass and serve.

Enjoy!

Mixed Drink: Ginger Lemon Summer Day:

A long time ago, my mom bought Lemoncello thinking it would be a nice drink, but when she got it, it was like drinking lemon pledge.   I’ve looked all over the internet trying to find a simple recipe that used it, and I just wasn’t really feeling the recipes.  So, I took it into my own hands to create my very own.  I didn’t really know what to call it, so I pulled from every which way.  Ginger, from the ginger ale, Lemon from the lemoncello, and summer day from the day I decided to make it.

Ingredients:
1 oz Vodka
2 oz Lemoncello
10 oz Ginger Ale
1 tbsp Confectioner Sugar
A splash of Grenadine.

Directions:
Add the vodka, lemoncello, and confectioner sugar to a glass full of ice.  Stir together until the sugar is dissolved.   (You can use a shaker if you please.)  Then top it off with the ginger ale.  Add a splash of grenadine and there you have it, Ginger Lemon Summer Day.

Without Grenadine
With Grenadine
The grenadine is optional, but I feel it adds a sweeter push, and I didn’t use a full table spoon of confectioner sugar.
Also, lemoncello is very,VERY, lemony.  I have also made this drink with just one oz of lemoncello, and it’s still delicious.

Enjoy!

If you make this tell me!  I’d like to know if it’s not just me who likes it.

Mixed Drink: Sex on the Beach

Today I have an alcoholic drink recipe for you.   I’ve always had these as frozen drinks, but today I decided not to blend it.  Works just as well.  (Although, I should have, this humidity is killing me! Ick!)

Ingredients:
1 ½ oz Vodka
½ oz Peach Schnapps
2 oz Cranberry Juice
2 oz Orange Juice

Directions:
Very simple, add all of the ingredients to a glass full of ice and mix.

Enjoy!!

Mixed Drink: Thin Mint Martini

If you enjoy Thin Mint Cookies that the girl scouts sell every year, then you'll love this drink.  I expected the drink to be a little strong, but it tastes nothing like alcohol.  (To me.)  It's the perfect amount of mint and chocolate.

Ingredients:
1 Tbs Chocolate Syrup
1 oz Peppermint Schnapps
2 oz Chocolate Liqueur
2 oz Half and half

Directions:

Dirzzle Chocolate Syrup into a martini glass and then put it into the freezer so the chocolate can set.
Then put the rest of the ingredients into a shaker with some ice and shake.

Then strain in to the glasses.
Enjoy!

I didn't have chocolate syrup, but I did have hot fudge, which works just as well.  It was a little hard to drizzle properly, but the drizzle still turned out okay.   I never knew how hard it actually was to drizzle chocolate properly in circles.

Mixed Drink: True Blood

This week I'm taking a break from my usual food recipe and I'm going back to a drink recipe.  I have many drink recipes, I just don't always have the ingredients that are needed.
That being said:

Ingredients:
1 part Crown Royal Whisky
1 part Peach Schnapps
1 part Cranberry juice (I only had cran-pom)

This drink tastes just like Peach candy.  It's very smooth and very sweet.  I 10/10 recommend it.  I wasn't 100% sure if I would like it or not because it does have whisky in it but you can't taste it whatsoever.  (If you worried about that.)
Obviously, the measurement are completely up to you, it's just better to keep everything equal.

If you do decided to make this gem, tell me about it!

Mixed Drink:Southern White Rose

In this post here I talked about all of the things that you can mix with Rum Chata.  Recently I  found a new recipe that included the liqueur, and I just had to make a post about it.  The drink is called a Southern White Rose, and it’s AMAZING.
The drink itself, is a creamy mix of strawberry from the Tequila Rose, spicy from the Rum Chata, and a small kick from the Southern Comfort.  All three of these drinks I enjoy by themselves, but mixed together it's like it takes the best parts of each drink and puts emphasis on them.

Looks like I can't spell Tequila. Oops.

To make this drink, just add equal parts of all three ingredients to a shaker, pour into a shot glass, (or if you want a bigger glass), and enjoy.

Mixed Drink: Pinkeapple Upside down Cake

If you saw my other two recipe posts (Here and Here) then you would know that I when I find a recipe I like, I write it down into a notebook and when I get a chance I make it.  The book is mostly alcohol drinks, but that is only because I have been hoarding alcohol recipes for a while now.   I noticed that I had a can of pineapple juice left over from something else, so I decided to see if I had any recipes that used pineapple juice, and I did, Pineapple Upside-down Cake Shot.

This is one of those recipes that you can make larger if you want; all you have to do is keep the parts even.   It is a lot better if you keep all of the ingredients supper cold, so using a shaker is best.  If you want it to be more aesthetically pleasing then wait to add the grenadine.

If all 3 ingredients are shaken you’ll get an orange-y pink colored drink with a little bit of foam at the top.  If you keep the ingredients equal you’ll just taste the pineapple with a small kick at the end of vanilla.  It’s a very smooth drink, and like I said before you can double the ingredients to make it a bigger drink.   I gave this drink 3 out of 5 stars, and I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a pineapple sort of drink.

Mixed Drink:

A few months ago, I got this liqueur Rum Chata.  It's a creamy spicy drink that is amazing all by itself, and mixed.  This time I chose to mix it with Root Beer.  (1 part rum chata, 2 parts root  beer)

Some other things that you can mix it with are:
Banana Liquor
Cake Vodka
Dr. Pepper
Kahlua
Coffee
Half&Half
Milk
Butterscotch Schnapps
Chocolate Milk
Coconut Water
Espresso
Pepsi
Frangelico
Cream Soda

Other than Root Beer I have mixed it with Banana Liquor, which was also amazing.

To be honest, I probably would mix it with more creamy milky products but that is just my taste.  I'm not big on heavy cream drinks. Also, with all creamy drinks you should always be careful, because the cream could curdle with different types of ingredients.
