Mystic Water Soap:

Every year there is this festival a few hours away from where a bunch of people set up tents and sell their products that they have made.  My friends and I started going to this festival four years ago, and we have gone every year except last year. At this place, there is food, crafts, jewelry, soap, hats, purses, everything.  It’s all pretty much handmade, and that’s what I love about it.
There is this one shop that was there the first and second time I went called Mystic Water Soap.  They sell handmade soap, chapstick, face wash, lotion, and soap accessories. The soap bars that I have bought from them, I have since used up, but I still have some whipped shea butter and chapstick.
In this picture I have four chapsticks in Vanilla, Orange, Devils food cake, and Espresso.  They're so smooth and creamy. My favorite is the orange with vanilla being a close second.  I also have a shea whipped butter in the scent Pink Sugar.  I doesn’t say what the fragrance is, but it’s a very sweet smell. I’ve had it, since the second time I went, and it’s still going.
I’ve looked at their site, and Pink Sugar is no longer available, the scents that are listed are true to scent.  Also, the only chapstick that is still available is Espresso. (Theres a vanilla butter cream, but I think that different)  The Espresso has a very strong scent (unless they have changed their ingredients) but for someone who loves coffee it is a very good choice.  I wouldn’t mind trying the watermelon, PiƱa Colada, and Lavender Honey.  Hopefully I’ll be able to go back this year. (I have a buyer’s card that is almost up where I get a free something.)

If you would like here is their website! You should check them out, and buy something. It’s so worth it.

My Favorite Books:

If you were to see me sitting alone in public without a computer, then there is a 98% chance that I have a book in my hand.  While I was in school, waiting between classes, I would read, but I didn’t actually start reading for fun until my senior year of High School.

After I started reading for fun  I fell in love with almost every book I read.

My very favorite book is Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. I don’t really think I need to summarize this book.  I read Gone with the Wind over the summer going into my last year of college, so 2012.  I had one professor ask me if it were for a class or for fun, in which I replied “for fun.”  And he loved that.  (He was one of my favorites.)  Then I had a student ask me “Are you reading that?”  “Uhm…yeah…why?”  “Didn’t think you would.”  It amazed people that I was reading it.  I then was later discussing the book with a friend, and she was surprised that I “could actually finish a book of that size.”
My second favorite book is The Last Victim by Jason Moss and Jeffery Kottler, PhD.  This book is not for the squeamish.  It’s a very dark disturbing book, but it was one that I couldn’t put down.  Jason is an 18 year old college student who writes letters to serial killers.  The book is mostly him and his letters with John Wayne Gacy, and how he deals with what is coming in, and how they manipulate each other.  I read this book very quickly, because of the fact that I couldn’t put it down.  The story is, to me, amazingly interesting.
The third book in the line is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.  I read this book in the 8th grade because I had to, and I actually loved it.  I loved it so much that I got a friend to buy it for me.  Again, this is a book that I don’t think I need to summarize.  I love this book, and the meaning that it has.  And who wouldn’t want a greaser?  I’ve always thought about getting a tattoo from this book, but the very common one is so over used, so I’m still thinking about what I could do.
The last book is a hit or miss.  Lucas by Kevin Brooks is about a small town girl, Cait, who doesn’t really have many friends and her family life isn’t the best. (Fathers an alcoholic, brother is away at college, mom is gone.)  Cait one day see a guy, Lucas, and can’t get him out of her mind.  They eventually meet, and a few things happen, and the townspeople (who didn’t like him before) turned against him.  It’s definitely a teenage book, but I’m a sucker for those.
So, What’s your favorite book or book series?
I have a lot of books that I love, but these four are my absolutely favorite.  I will be posting about my books some more.  I haven’t decided on whether or not I’m going to include every book I own, but I do have a few planned out.

Wet n' Wild Lipstick

A little while ago I went out to a discount store to buy some make-up that I talked about here.  Also while I was there, I picked up two wet n’ wild lipsticks, “Just Peachy” and “Wine Room.”  I wanted a darker more winter color, and I went with a peach color.  What attracted me to them, besides the colors, was that they lasted four hours.  They don’t.  “Wine Room” is more likely to stain the area around my lips than my lips themselves.  They both rub off really easily and I’m constantly worried that they’re half way down my face, or even worse just on the outside of my lips.
I think that I paid $2 for them both, so it’s really not much loss and it is kind of expected since they are cheaper, but I like to give everything a chance.  I would give these two stars out of five.  Not my favorite lipstick, but they’re also not my worst purchase ever.

Five products that make me happy:

A few weeks ago, I made this post about 5 products that made me sad, now I’m here to talk about five products that make me happy and I will be, or all ready have,  repurchasing.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer: In the past three months or so, I finally knuckled down and started to moisturize my face.  It’s still not spot on, but I’m a lot better at it than say six months ago.  I have a few different brands of moisturizer, including the Murad Age Defying and the Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone, but my go to everyday grab is Neutrogena oil-free moisture.  It’s quick, easy, and has a drugstore price.

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Chapstick: I got this chapstick at the beginning of fall and I have since fallen in love with it.  I usually go for the medicated chapstick by Chapstick, but I saw that Baby Lips had a tinted medicated line, and I really like the peach tinted one.  Unfortunately, when I went to buy some the store was out of peach so I settled with the clear tube.  In the ad it says that your lips feel better within an hour, and your lips are perfectly hydrated after a week or so of proper application.  When you apply it, there is a greasy residue, but it eventually absorbs into your lips and they feel smooth.   Since it is winter, my lips got really chapped about two weeks ago, and I used this chapstick religiously, and I didn’t notice a difference.   It seems to only work really well on semi-chapped lips.  But, I love that it comes in tints, and it does restore your lips.  Hopefully when I run out the tint that I want will be at the store.
Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Lotion: When I first bought this product, I was interested in the calming effect it says it has.  On the back it says “soothes your senses.”  I’ve never had it soothe anything but my dry skin.  Aveeno is one of my favorite lines of skin repair, they never disappoint me.  This is actually my second tube.  It smells amazing; lavender is in my top three favorite scents.
Yankee Candle Sugared Apple: In December there was a sale at Yankee Candle, and I found this candle, and fell in love.  It’s a very sweet scent.  It’s also one of those candles that even when you’re not burning it, you can still sometimes smell it.   I love this candle so much, that I’ve bought two more jars. Unfortunately they’re seasonal, and I don’t know if they will be returning.

Elizabeth Arden “Pretty” Perfume: I found this perfume around two years ago.  I got it for Christmas one year, I wore it basically every day, and then I ran out.   I eventually got another bottle, and I’m still so in love with it.  This perfume is a light floral scent. It also lasts all day. I always get compliments when I wear it.  It’s perfect.

The Body Shop:

I heard about The Body Shop from a few youtubers that I watch, and their reviews on the products sparked my interest.  So, for Christmas, I decided to try some of their products for myself. While on their website, I really just wanted to try everything, but narrowed it down to Mango, Strawberry, Atlas Mountain Rose, and Vanilla.  Three shower gels and one lotion.

Trying the show the shimmer

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the scents, especially the strawberry one, so I got the smallest bottles available. (Except for the vanilla lotion because they didn’t have a smaller bottle.)  Also, I kind of have a love for shimmer lotion.  And my conclusion is… I love them all, except the lotion.  To me the lotion smells like play dough.  I told my mom about it, and she told me that it sometimes happens with vanilla smelling products.  I think my favorite is the rose scent, but I might be a little bias to that, seeing how it’s one of my favorite scents.
I also bought two candles.  I bought Aloe & Soft Linen and Jasmine & White Frangipani. I bought them because I had heard that they burn evenly, not just a narrow hole down the middle, and I decided to test that.  The other day, I burned the Jasmine & White Frangipani for around five hours, and for the length I was burning it for, it didn’t get too steep, but it was not evenly distributed.  Usually when I burn candles for that amount of time they end up having a lot less than this candle does.  Also, after the candle being blown out, and at least 12 hours has passed, my room still smells like the candle.  That amazes me.

When I bought the products, they were having a 50% off special that day, and it seems like they are always having some kind of discount.   50% is the highest discount I have ever seen.  Eventually,  I plan on trying the peach and coconut shower gels.  Along with mango body mist, watermelon lip gloss, rose fragrance mist, and so much more.  I cannot wait to try the other scents.
What is your favorite thing from The Body Shop?

Estee Lauder!

It’s no secret that I love Estee Lauder products.  Within the last few months I discovered just how much I loved their products; I even made a post about it here.   Over Christmas Estee Lauder had a special going that if you bought perfume over a certain price, then you could pick a present for a discounted price.  I was at first going to get the bigger package, that had nail polish, make-up remover, and mascara included, but I went with the smaller package.  This includes:

I’m really in love with the blush on the bottom left "Peach Passion."  I haven’t decided which eyeshadow is my favorite.  I’m leaning towards “Candy Crave” and “Clouds.”  (Those colors are 24 and 25.  Second from the bottom row last two.)  And the only lipstick that I have used it called "Candy," but I really like the red one next to it called "Rose Envy."  I haven't had a chance to use either the lip gloss or the eyeliner.  I'm not very big on either one.
The only problem I have with this set is that the names are not printed on the holder itself; it has a plastic covering that lays over top the colors.  It makes it harder to read the color names.
If you have any questions as to what color is named what go ahead and ask!
