A few months ago, I discovered a recipe for a Cheese Ball on
tumblr. I had no idea what a cheese ball
was, and man was I missing out. I wrote
the recipe down and a little while later I tried it out. It was simple and amazing. I then decided to introduce the recipe to my
friends.
Over the weekend I made the recipe again and brought it to
the annual Christmas party.
What you’ll need:
- 8 oz Softened Cream Cheese
- ½ cup of butter
- ¾ cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
- ¼ tsp Vanilla Extract
- ¾ cup Mini Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- ¾ cup Pecans, Chopped
In a medium bowl beat together the cream cheese and butter
until it is smooth.
Add in the powdered sugar, brown sugar, and the vanilla
extract.
Stir in chocolate chips.
(This time around I cut the amount in half, because I felt like there
were too many the first time around.)
I don't have a picture of the chocolate chips stirred in, but this is one of those to tastes steps.
Cover and chill for two hours.
Shape into a ball, re-cover, and let chill for another hour.
Roll into pecans, or chocolate chips, before serving, and
enjoy.
I split the ball in half and did both peacans and chocolate chips because I have friends who are allergic to nuts.
I spread it onto ginger snap cookies. It’s so delicious. It tastes just like a cheesecake.
**If you really want to be adventurous, add in 1 ½ cups of
Red Velvet cake mix to make a Red Velvet version.
