Currently I am #6

Currently I am...Falling in love with the T.V. Show Prison Break.  I just started watching it on Netflix and I'm already on season two, and I'm totally in love!  If you haven't watched it, give it a try.  I didn't think that I would like it that's why I didn't start it when it first came out, but was I wrong!

Currently I am...Craving some really good Japanese food.

Currently I am...Hungry.

Currently I am...Wanting to cut my hair short, but then again looking at my hair and loving it.  It's such a love hate relationship.  But doesn't everyone go through that?

Currently I am...Wish it were Fall.  It's my second favorite season.  (Spring is my first if you were wondering.)

My 1 Year Anniversary!

On this day one year ago, I decided to start a blog on blogger.  I didn’t think it would get anywhere, and I didn't think anyone would read it, but it turns out I do have some readers.  It’s really exciting.  I also didn’t think that I would keep it up.   I started out sporadic, here and there, with some kind of random things. I then buckled down, and thought out a schedule.  I’ve changed it up a bit here and there, but I’m pretty set with how I’m doing things.  I like that I have a little bit of everything.
This blog has introduced me to new foods and drinks and more make-up items.  Before this blog I never really wore lipstick and now (even though I’m not very bold) I love it.  I find myself not leaving the house without it.

Without this blog, I never would have found some of my favorite blogs that I read either.

I’m so happy that I actually kept up with something for a whole year.  I’m glad that I didn’t give up when I wanted to, or when I felt too overwhelmed by how much I was doing.  I can’t wait to see where my blog is a year from now.

It’s just so exciting!
Yay me!

Maybelline’s “The Nudes” Eyeshadow Palette:

If you’re like me, then you follow a lot of other beauty blogger/vloggers and since you follow a few others, then you know about this palette.   If not, then maybe you saw an ad for it.   I found out about this palette because of YouTube and I instantly wanted it.  I went to Target and they had run out, so then I went to walmart and there were only three palettes left, two were open, one was not.   I hate it when that happens.  It irks me so much because how am I supposed to know if someones dirty little hands have or have not been on them? You can obviously see the colors through the top, like come on!

There are 12 shades and 13 different suggested looks.  There are 6 shimmers and 6 mattes.
I have created a few looks from this palette, including the one on my FOTD #8

I was a little bit confused at first, because the way the palettes like this always go is lid, crease, brow bone, corner, but this time it goes brow bone, lid, crease, corner.  I figured that out looking closer to the diagrams provided on the back.  Of course you don’t have to follow the rules and you can mix them up anyway you please.
I love all of the colors, and I feel that they’re true to pot.  Even the very nude color does something on my eyelid, and it has become my favorite.  (Paired with other colors of course.)

This palette cost around $10 to $11, and I say it’s totally worth it.  Especially with all of the different combinations.

Have you tried this palette yet?  Let me know what you think!

Short Hiatus Over:

Good Morning!
So I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but after Monday last week I stopped posting.  There were two reasoning’s behind my little hiatus.  Reason #1, my computer got water damage and the screen was really messed up, and I wasn’t sure if the motherboard was going to survive.   Currently, everything is fine.   I’ve been using my computer all week and nothing has happened.  The screen even cleared up besides for a few little streaks that are easily ignored.  The only problem that seems to exsit is that the port where I insert my SD card from my camera does not work.  That means that I need to find a new way of getting all of my pictures onto my computer.   There is another computer in the house, so I’m pretty sure that is how I’m going to have to do things.  Upload the pictures to that computer, put them on a flash drive, and then bring them back to my computer.   This will just add extra steps into my life, but honestly it’s not like I’m short on time.
Now for reason #2.  When I wrote Monday’s post, I didn’t know what had happened.  I woke up and my mom was home, which confused me because she should have been at work.  She later on tells me that my 17 year old, 3 legged, cat was attacked in the night and he had to be brought to the vets.   A hurt cat probably wouldn’t stop you from going on the internet, but it did for me.  That cat means everything to me, I’ve had him since I was 5.   We don’t know what attacked him.  All we know is that it was something that was able to pick him up, shake him, and then drop him.  We don’t know why it decided to drop him, but I’m so glad it did.   He’s doing much better now.  He’s been walking around the house, he’s been drinking water, and he even went down the stairs by himself.  The only thing that he hasn’t been doing himself is eating.
I should be back to normal this week, unless I can’t get my hands on the other computer.
I hope you’ve been well!

Weekend fun and a little set back:

Over the weekend my aunt came into town and we all (all meaning my mom, sister, aunt, and I)  sat around for a bit and talked about everything that has been happening since the last time we saw each other. (About two months.)

After we were all caught up we decided to go into old town and look at all the cute shops.  We went into one, where I got some butter pecan syrup, and a little chocolate covered marzipan bar. (Do they all come covered in chocolate? Idk.) My sister didn't like the marzipan, but I loved it.  I've heard it's a hit or miss item.

After we were done in that store, my mom and aunt were hungry, so we decided to go into a small little restaurant that used to be a drugstore soda bar place. ( The real title isn't coming to me.). I had a Cesar salad with a caramel iced coffee, my mom and sister had a cheeseburger, and my aunt had a hot Ruben.  It was a delicious place, and we plan on going back really soon.  Maybe I'll do a whole post on them.

After that it had gotten to be a little late and all of the shops had closed up so we went back home and had coffee and talked about so much more. (including makeup which made me all happy!)

It was great.

Now for the little art back.  Somehow water was spilled all over my laptop.  I think everything has been dried out, except for the screen. I have turned it on since, and nothing sparked or smoked, but the screen looks awful.  I've read online that I can take it apart and dry it myself, but I'm a little bit hesitant about that because I don't know what I'm doing.  So for now I think I'm going to wait it out a bit, and see where things go.

That means that I will be posting less frequently and most likely without pictures.  As I type this, I'm using the blogger app.

So I apologize about the quality of this post (if there are any errors and things like that) and I'm currently just trying to figure everything out.

Please bare with me.

FOTD #9:

Today I'm wearing the white version of the blue shirt I wore in last weeks FOTD.
I got it from Khols last year.
ma

On my face I don't have much.  I wasn't feeling too well, so I went with what I call light, and not very hard to do.
My concealer is Rimmel London #125 fair.
My eye shadow is from a palette that the name has rubbed off of.  I know the shadow itself is called 'Twilight'.
My eyeliner is from L'Oreal, it's called Le Kohl Duo in the color black brown/ hazelnut.
My  mascara is from Loral as well and it's the Volumous Carbon Black that I typically always wear.
My lipstick is by Sonia Kashuk in the shade 88 Rosette.

I think my weekend will be full of me feeling sick, so I hope yours is much, much, better.

Recipe: Lemon Chicken Pasta

If you have been following my blog for a while, then you’ll know that when I post a recipe it’s either an alcoholic drink recipe or it’s a dessert recipe.  This week I’ve decided to try something different and go for a dinner recipe.  (Or lunch, It’s pretty versatile.)
I’m not much of a cook.  I used to cook more when  I was younger, but then I stopped and I’m now out of practice.  Also, I’m not a big fan of touching raw food.  Which is why for this recipe I used and already cooked chicken.
Anyways, enjoy!

Also, for the picture of all the ingredients, I forgot the Lemons, and my parsley is a plant outside, so I couldn’t really include that one.  (Sorry.)

3 cups (1 ½ dry)  Farfalle Pasta
1/3 cup (5 Tbsp) Butter
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
2 Tbsp Fresh Parsley
¼ tsp Garlic Powder
¼ tsp Marjoram
1 ½ cup Grilled Chicken

Directions:

Cook Pasta and then add the butter.
Grill the Chicken. (Or in my case heat it up a little bit.)

Toss the pasta will all of the ingredients above.
Enjoy!

For my tastes personally, I think that there was a little bit too much lemon.  Nut everything else was fine.   Just a side note just in case you’re not a big lemon person.

Revlon Lipstick Review:

So I don’t know if you know this about me, but I am really safe with lipstick.  I don’t venture out from what I know and love.  I didn’t notice how safe I was about the colors that I pick until I tried to do a “my favorite lip colors” post.  I found out that they’re pretty much all the same color, just by a different brand.  Well not anymore.  I picked up two lipstick colors that I don’t own, a very light pink color and a deep pink color.  Both by Revlon, both from lines that I already know I love.

Up first is the lip butter.  I have one other lip butter in a nice red shade called 063 Wild Watermelon.  I like to wear this one more in the fall and spring than in the summer or winter.  Now I have a light pink called 080 Strawberry Shortcake.  The reason why I never bought this one is because it’s a light pink.  Looking at the sticker on the bottom, it’s a pale Barbie pink, and looking at the tube it’s a candy pink.  But I decided to try it out, and I am SO GLAD I did.  I love the color.  It’s not too pink and sugary.  It’s perfect for the days where I want some pink without some orange.  I am very happy with my pick, and I will be wearing this a lot.

The next one is a little bit different.  I have another one from the Super Lustrous line and it’s a pink color.  It was my first lipstick, and for a while I didn’t like it and I ignored it, but I picked it up a little while ago, and I loved it. It’s called 423 Pink Velvet.  The one I’m showing you today called 657 Fuchsia Fusion. What I didn’t know when I bought it was that it has blue undertones in it.  I was tickled because I had wanted to try a blue undertone lipstick.   I really like this one, but I’m still a little weary about wearing it at this point in time.

If you’re looking for new lipsticks to try then I suggest trying Revlon’s Lip Butter line or the Super Lustrous line.  I would stay away from the Suede line though.  It’s not a very nice line.

FOTD #8

The shirt is from Khols and was around $10.  I have it in white and black also.  It's very comfy, and I fell in love with it, so I had to have more.

I'm including this one for a close up eyes open pic.

On my face is Rimmel London Concealer in #125.
I filled my eyebrows in with the unknown eyeshadow palette.
On my cheeks is L.A. Colors Blush and it's called "Blushing Pink."
On my eyes is the new Maybelline "The Nudes" palette.  I'll be posting about it soon, but if you have it or have seen it it's the middle four.
On my eyelashes is Physicians Formula Organic Wear Curl & Care in Ultra Black. (Review coming soon.)
And finally on my lips is Revlon Lip Butter in 080 Strawberry Shortcake.  (Again, review coming soon.)

That's everything today.
Hope your weekend is good!

Currently I am...#4

Currently I am...Listening to kittens run around and play.  (Did I say this last week? Well it's still cute!)

Currently I am...wanting for this headache to leave, and not really wanting to take medication for it.

Currently I am...Planning my FOTD for tomorrow.

Currently I am...Wondering if everything worked out in my sisters favor.  Shes going on vacation soon, and the person shes going with is being rude.  (They go every year, so typically the plan is always the same, until now.)

Currently I am...ready for the fall to get here.  I want to sit on my back porch in the morning and not feel like I'm drowning from the humidity.

That's all my currents this week!

Mixed Drink:Peppermint White Russian

If you know anything about me, it's that I love everything mint flavored.  You'll also know that I love Bailey's Irish Cream.  So, this drink is perfection.

2 oz Peppermint Schnapps
2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
1 oz Half and Half

Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice and then strain into a glass.
You can garnish with peppermint candies, but I had a hard time getting them to stick.  So really I just wasted a few candies.
I put the drink into a small 2 oz glass because I think the glass is super cute, but the recipe makes about a 5 oz drink.

Enjoy!
xx

P.S. If you have any tips about getting the candy to stick let me know!

Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes:

I finally got some money in my pocket, so I decided that I would have a little shopping spree.   I didn’t spend much, but I bought things that I wouldn’t typically ask for.  The first item that I am going to show you is Burt’s Bees facial cleansing towelettes with white tea extract.  They’re 99.1% natural, and they smell amazing.  To me they smell like lemons but to my sister they smell like white tea.  I think they were around $6 and you get 30 in the pack.

I really liked these because they say at the top “removes dirt, oil, and make-up.”  So on my really lazy nights all I have to do is wipe my face and off to bed I go.  They remove my make-up nicely and I don’t feel as if they left any behind.  The first time I used them, I did end up getting the wipe in my eye, and that burned a bit, so my advice to you would to use caution.
The only thing I don’t like is that after I have used the wipes, my face is a little shiny, but since I use them before bed, it’s not that big of a deal.   Also, until you use a few, it’s a little bit hard to pull the wipe out.

I love them, and I seriously can’t stop smelling them.

Hello August!

I used to hate August so much when I was in high school because it meant that summer was ending soon and I would have to go back to school.  I still don’t really care for August, but I don’t dread it as much.  What I really dislike is all of the back to school adverts and all of the crazy school supplies shoppers, it’s annoying.  Also the weather is killer, and it won’t let up until October.
I’m not really sure what August has in store for me.  Probably not as much as I would like; I might have a little shopping spree soon.  I really want to buy some new books, but I don’t think I have any more room for books…I need more shelves, but I have no room.  I also need some more stationary.  I guess I should be glad that school supplies will be going on sale soon.
I just can’t wait for autumn to start!  I’m so excited.   I’m ready for cold weather and crunchy leaves.

Also…I think my blog turns a year old this month.  That’s really cool.
