What’s in my bag?

I know many people do this post/video, and I love them so I figured so do you.  I don’t know if this post would be easier as a video, I’m assuming it would be, but I’m just not interest in making videos.  Not my style.   So, here’s a small look into my bag.

I bought this bag for $20 and it’s from Ross, unfortunately I don’t remember the brand.  I wanted an over the shoulder bag and this one has an adjustable strap so it was perfect.  Usually my bags have dividers in them, but this one does not, so things are a little less organized, but there is a small zipped pocket where I keep my chapstick, lipstick, and a lighter.  Then on the opposite side there are two pockets where I keep my phone, iPod, and gum.

The Covergirl powder  is 525 buff beige  The other powder is by Drew Barrymore Flower in PP1 (Amazing powder btw)
I then have my wallet (Had to take a few items out) and a small makeup bag.  I got my wallet from Khols on sale for $16 and my make-up bag is from Paris, my Aunt got it for me so I have no idea what it cost.  Inside the make-up bag I have another chapstick (Orange from Mystic Water Soap), two powders, and extra hair ties/ bobby pins.

Show off  is "Luna" and the covergirl is #235
I also have my house keys, a small hand sanitizer in the scent creamy pumpkin, (that I rarely use), a small hand lotion, a small bag of luck that a friend made for me a few years ago for Christmas, and my camera.

Depending on the bag that I use, I’ll also carry around a small notebook.  This one is a little too small for that.   Also the bigger the bag the more items I’ll carry.  I’ve been known to have three different lotions, cough drops, a scarf, and a first aid kit.  It all just depends on the bag.

Bedding:

I know that I’m not the only one, but I just love bedding.  I like getting new sheets and comforters, to me it’s like getting into a new bed. Changing up the style from polka dots to floral and now to my new pattern, there’s nothing more satisfying.  To me there’s nothing better than getting into a freshly made bed at night, knowing that the sheets are freshly laundered.  I love it.
For a while now I’ve been looking for a new bed spread and over the weekend I finally got one.  I was looking for something bright and that was different from all of my other bedding, and I found just that.

I got this comforter from overstock.com for $95.  It was just a simple set (1 comforter, 2 shams) and it was delivered really fast.  The fabric is a little itchy, but I figure all it needs is a wash.  I’m now on the search for a nice pale pink sheet and pillowcase set.  (I’m also always on the search for the perfect floral sheet set.) I’ve seen a few around, but they’re not exactly what I’m looking for.  I also like when the sheets are sold separately from the pillowcases because I sleep with five pillows, and I’ve never been able to match all of my cases with my sheets.

So, tell me, do you love bedding?  And, where do you get your bedding from?

Mixed Drink: True Blood

This week I'm taking a break from my usual food recipe and I'm going back to a drink recipe.  I have many drink recipes, I just don't always have the ingredients that are needed.
That being said:

Ingredients:
1 part Crown Royal Whisky
1 part Peach Schnapps
1 part Cranberry juice (I only had cran-pom)

This drink tastes just like Peach candy.  It's very smooth and very sweet.  I 10/10 recommend it.  I wasn't 100% sure if I would like it or not because it does have whisky in it but you can't taste it whatsoever.  (If you worried about that.)
Obviously, the measurement are completely up to you, it's just better to keep everything equal.

If you do decided to make this gem, tell me about it!

Hard Candy Long Wear Eyeshadow Primer:

Two or so weeks ago, while out shopping, I picked up a primer by Rimmel London after failing to find the one from Hard Candy.  After a few weeks using the Rimmel London primer, I feel like it’s not doing exactly what I want.  While it’s great for protecting the whole face, I still felt like my eyeshadow was suffering from creasing and fading.  So, I went on the hunt again for the Hard Candy one I originally wanted that is specifically an eyeshadow primer, and I found it.
On the box it says “intensify color and wear of any shadow,” and from my use of two days, I can say that it does intensify color and after all day wear my eyeshadow has not moved at all.   I even forgot that I was wearing make-up and rubbed my eye and it’s still 100% intact.  I have fallen in love with this product.
I didn't know that it had a tint to it, but when applied I didn't see the tint at all.

For someone with pretty much no budget (I have like a $20 monthly budget) this primer fits in perfectly.  The price of this primer is only $5, and I think I paid around $6 or $7 for the Rimmel London Primer.  (Of course that is an allover primer.)

I love them both, but if I had to choose just one it would be the Hard Candy one.

If you have used either of the products mentioned, did you love or hate them?

Food in a Mug: Chocolate Chip Cookie

This weeks food in a mug is chocolate chip cookies...although the texture is more like a muffin.

The Ingredients:
1 tbs Butter
1 tbs Granulated Sugar
1 tbs Packed Brown Sugar
3 drops of Vanilla Extract
1 Egg
A little less than 1/4 cup of Flour
2 tbs of Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

First you need to melt the butter.  After that add the sugars, salt, and vanilla extract.  Next you add the egg, mix, then flour and mix.  After everything comes together, add the  chocolate chips (I added a little less for personal preference.)  Then microwave for 40 to 60 seconds.

After 40 seconds in the microwave
After 30 more seconds, fully cooked.
Sorry it's a little blurry...
Like I said above, the texture is a little bit more like a muffin, but I have a recipe for a muffin (Coming soon) and the ingredients are a little different.  It's a quick fix for a nice dessert, and it was really quick to put together.  I think the shortest mug food I have ever tried.

Books: The Bell Jar

For over a month now I have wanted to want to read, but I just couldn’t.  I don’t know why I got into a “book funk” but I did.  In the past two month I started three books, and none of them interested me at that time.  For someone who was always reading, that’s a little odd.  But, I decided to try again, and I read a whole book in two days.  (Yay me!)  That book was The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.  If you don’t know what The Bell Jar is about then let me try to tell you quickly.
The Bell Jar is about a woman named Ester, who is 19 years old, and a college student.  The book starts out with her at a summer job working for a magazine.  She is surrounded by other girls, and her roommate, Doreen, is out going and very ‘plays by her own rules’ kind of girl whereas Ester is more reserved.  Ester always feels different than the other girls.  After her magazine job ends, she has a summer school class set up, but she finds out that she was not accepted into the program and she has to live with her mother for the rest of summer, which is very unsettling to her.  Ester then decides that she is going to write a novel, learn short hand, and start on her senior thesis, but she gets overwhelmed.  Not because there is too much work for her, but because she stops sleeping, eating, showering, and even being able to read and write.  Her mind betrays her.
Her mother then takes her to a doctor, Dr. Gordon, who gives her sleeping pills and shock treatment.  Ester had a bad reaction to the shock treatment, and a little later, she takes a new bottle of sleeping pills, goes into the crawl space and takes them.  She wakes up in the hospital, and when she recovers from the overdose, she is sent to the state institution.  Unfortunately, Ester is very uncooperative, and she still constantly has the thought of suicide.  Eventually she does get to go to a better hospital, because of a woman, Philomena Guinea, who is basically her sponsor, pays for her time there.  (This woman is also writing a book about her case.)  Ester then begins to trust her doctor, Dr. Nolan, and things start to look up a bit.   On a cocktail of therapy, insulin, and proper shock treatment, Ester improves so much she is granted special treatments.  (Leaving the hospital to shop, see a movie, etc.)
Eventually, Ester’s world does get lighter, and she eventually is in talks of being able to leave to go back to school.  She believes that she is alright, but knows that at any time her world could crash again.
If you know anything about Sylvia Plath then you would know that she was depressed for most of her adult life.  She tried to commit suicide a few different times, including overdosing on medication, like Ester, and even though The Bell Jar is a work of fiction, there is no doubt that there are a few events that closely resemble Sylvia’s life.

If you have ever wondered about this book, I would 100% suggest it to you.  But be warned some find it disturbing.  I didn’t, but one of my favorite books is about writing to serial killers, so I might have a small tolerance.  If you do decided to read it, tell me about it!

Now I’m off to read A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess.
